Leeds United's injury ravaged season continued yesterday as they saw number two goalkeeper Jamal Blackman suffer serious injury.

The Chelsea loanee was stretchered off in the latest under-23 fixture for the Whites, and it was later confirmed by the club that the young stopper had suffered a broken leg and will no return to his parent club for the remainder of the campaign.

Blackman will no doubt have been hoping for a first team chance in the coming weeks, as the pressure builds on number one Bailey Peacock-Farrell, however, that dream is now in tatters.

It's not just Blackman either, with the club no doubt with plenty to think about heading into the January transfer window and over the busy winter fixture period.

With that in mind, we at FLW take a look at THREE impacts that Blackman's injury will have on Leeds United's season...

Pressure off Peacock-Farrell - for now

The young Leeds stopper has been Marcelo Bielsa's number one for the entire season so far, but a host of big mistakes have left some calling for the stopper to be dropped in favour of Blackman.

That all changes now, and 'BPF' will no doubt get a reprieve until at least the January window.

January action

The injury to Blackman will no doubt force Leeds into action during the January window.

Blackman was here for the season and would no doubt have played his part, but now, back at Chelsea and injured, Leeds need to go elsewhere.

Expect Bielsa to be quite busy come January as he looks to add another stopper to the ranks.

A nervy few months

The last thing the club needed was more injury news, but that is exactly what they have been lumbered with now Blackman has gone.

The Championship promotion race is bound to hot up, and Leeds could do without Bailey Peacock-Farrell being frightened of getting injured.

His performances have already been nervy enough at times, and it could prove a crucial few months if his mindset is altered.
