Samu Saiz looks to be on his way out of Leeds United, with a move back to Spain seemingly on the cards for the 27-year-old.

Leeds seem resigned to losing Saiz in the winter window, with the Yorkshire Evening Post reporting that the player is unhappy with life in England and looking to return to Spain, with a loan move to Getafe developing fast.

During his 18 months in England, Saiz has become a firm fan favourite at Elland Road, with his technical ability making him one of the club’s best players since they dropped out of the top-flight in 2004.

This season he’s featured on 19 occasions in the league under Bielsa, but has been inconsistent and in and out of the starting XI.

However, there’s no doubt that his departure is a blow.

Here is a look at THREE impacts we expect it to have on Leeds…

Brown was brought in during the summer to compete with Saiz for the No.10 role.

Now, with Saiz departing, there’s huge pressure on Brown to deliver. We know he’s a quality player, but he’s had a long-term injury and needs to hit the ground running when he returns to first-team action.

We will see how good the 21-year-old is with how he deals with this pressure.

There’s no doubt that Leeds’ plans for the winter window have been impacted now.

Bielsa seemed happy with his squad and just wanted to add a goalkeeper in January, but Saiz’s exit changes everything.

Surely Leeds must be considering bringing an attacking player in to replace the 27-year-old.

Baker’s career has been seriously stuttering over the last 18 months, but this could change everything for the 23-year-old.

Of course, Brown seems like the man to replace Saiz, but there’s a good chance that Baker will now get more game time than he was expecting.

Saiz's move could impact the direction Baker's career goes in from here.
