Huddersfield Town can now count themselves as solidly settled in the Championship.

They were promoted in 2012 following a penalty shoot-out victory over Sheffield United and have since consolidated their place in England's second tier.

After a few years of mingling around the lower mid-table regions, Huddersfield will be hoping to push on a bit more next year. With David Wagner's reign now in full flow, he will take charge of his first pre-season recruitment. Plenty of players have been coming in already and the Terriers could well be a surprise package next year. They have managed to retain a solid core of players whilst adding some fresh faces nice and early in the window to give them as much time to integrate as possible.

Whilst players like Nakhi Wells and Joel Lynch are your typically standout performers, Huddersfield have a lot of under-appreciated stars too.

This article examines THREE players to look out for in the upcoming season....

Rajiv van La Parra

Following a successful loan stint at Huddersfield last year, Rajiv van La Parra signed a permanent deal.

The Dutch wide man has been in England since 2014 with spells at Wolves and Brighton before joining up with David Wagner at Huddersfield.

His skill and pace on the wing poses a real threat for Championship defences and he could play a big part in the side next year.

The 25-year-old needs to add goals to his game but he creates plenty of opportunities and knows the league well.

Philip Billing

Denmark under-19 international Philip Billing joined Huddersfield's academy in 2013 from Esjeberg.

He made his first team debut last November and has since made 14 league appearances.

His performances have caught the attentions of a few Premiership clubs, such as Tottenham.

The 20-year-old opened his account for the Terriers with a 30-yard strike against Nottingham Forest and will hope to kick on next year.

The central midfielder normally sits a bit deeper in midfield but has plenty of energy to burst forward.

It is definitely worth keeping your tabs on his progression.

Jack Payne

Huddersfield fought off plenty of competition - including from the Premier League - to sign Jack Payne from Southend.

The 21-year-old rejected a new deal at Southend and the Essex side will be owed compensation by Huddersfield.

Payne's arrival will boost the attacking midfield ranks and provide some much-needed creativity in the final third.

With van La Parra and Payne feeding Nakhi Wells, there are exciting times ahead at Huddersfield.

It will be interesting to see if Payne can step up a league and perform in the Championship.
