Marco Bielsa's Leeds are expected to have a eventful transfer window ahead of them after missing out on promotion to the Premier League again.

Strengthening the team will be the priority for Bielsa, who committed to another season in May.

Nonetheless, questions surround the future of some players that could leave the Premier League hopefuls.

Find out who below...

Kalvin Phillips

The Leeds academy product has seen his importance in the Yorkshire squad grow exponentially in the past three seasons. The 23-year-old made 44 appearances in the league and has grown in importance. His style of play and influence in the centre of midfield makes him a crucial cog in the Leeds' machine. When Bisela opted for a back-three, Phillips dropped in.

His significance is shown statistically. According to Leeds Live, he made the most tackles in the squad per game (2.6), and only Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson had more interceptions on average (1.3). In addition, he completed 82.1% of his passes, while making the third most passes per game (58.5%).

Aston Villa are heavily rumoured to sign Phillips with the midlands club reportedly looking to sign him for £14m and unsurprisingly based on Phillips' season. Bielsa will hope they can keep their midfield stalwart.

Kiko Casilla

Casilla was signed in January 2019 as an upgrade on then first-team goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell. The spaniard had a solid second-half of the season, after arriving from Real Madrid on a four-year deal worth more than £30,000-a-week, but a critical error cost the Yorkshire team a place in the Playoff Final. With the failure to achieve promotion to the Premier League, Casilla could push for move back to Spain.

In response, Leeds are reportedly interested in signing Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers. Travers made two Premier League appearances last season.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell

If Casilla leaves and Peacock-Farrell fails to become Bielsa's first choice, Peacock-Farrell will be expected to depart. Peacock-Farrell delivered an ultimatum to Bielsa - if he does not overtake Casilla, or his replacement, he will seek a move away.

The 22-year-old has one year left on his contract and want first-team football and never regained his number one position after Casilla's arrival. While on international duty for Northern Ireland, he declared: "Every game is a shop window."
