There's plenty of clubs in the English Football League who have hidden gems in their squads, whether it be in the first-team or at youth development, who are just waiting to burst onto the scene.

Numerous stars in the Premier League have been successful products of the youth system at clubs in England's second or third-tiers.

Just take Dele Alli of Tottenham Hotspur, who started at MK Dons, or even Jamie Vardy at Leicester City starting from non-league football.

Ipswich Town have had their fair share of hidden gems from down the years, but most recently it has to be left-back Aaron Cresswell - now at West Ham United in the top-flight.

Another one who a few reading this may remember is former England international Darren Bent, who was at Portman Road between 2001-2005 before moving to Charlton Athletic.

FLW's Ryan White has identified THREE hidden gems currently within Ipswich Town's ranks.....

Josh Emmanuel

The 19-year-old may only have made a handful of appearances for Mick McCarthy's side since making his debut against Brentford last August, but Emmanuel is definitely a defender to keep an eye on.

Josh Emmanuel was playing for West Ham United's schoolboys, until he joined the youth set up at Ipswich Town, signing a professional contract at the Suffolk-based club in the summer of 2015.

He has some Football League experience already to his name, having spent time on-loan at Sky Bet League Two outfit Crawley Town in the 2015/16 season, making just two appearances for the Red Devils of West Sussex.

The defender has a bright future ahead of him, despite losing both games whilst at Crawley, as he started last campaign off well with two wins and one draw from his first three games in an Ipswich Town shirt.

Emmanuel has versatility on his side as well, with the ability to play at the heart of defence as well as full-back on either side.

Andre Dozzell

Andre Dozzell has a very promising future to look ahead towards.

The midfielder is just 17- years-old and is already amongst Mick McCarthy's first-team.

He's a product of the Portman Road side's youth setup and won academy Player of the Year in April this year.

In the same month, Dozzell made his professional debut for Ipswich Town aged 16, coming on as a substitute at half-time in a match against Sheffield Wednesday.

During the same game, he scored his first senior goal as well, scoring the equaliser against the Yorkshire club.

The midfielder matched the same achievement his father did at 16 in 1984 by scoring on his professional debut.

Although Andre Dozzell has only made one appearance so far this season, coming in a 1-0 home defeat to Stevenage in the EFL Cup, he certainly is a hidden gem just waiting for his time to shine.

He currently has 15 caps for England at under-17 level, scoring three goals in total.

Grant Ward

Although you could argue that Grant Ward isn't as much a hidden gem as the previous two I have mentioned, there's no denying the fact that he has a prospective career ahead oh him.

The 21 year-old moved to Portman Road in the summer on a three-year deal from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

On his debut the midfielder scored a hat-trick on the opening day of the season, coming on as a second-half substitute to score three goals to lead the Tractor Boys to a 4-2 home victory against Barnsley.

His only other goal so far this campaign has come in a 1-0 win against Preston North End towards the end of August.

Grant Ward has plenty of Football League to offer to his team-mates, despite his age, making over 50 appearances in two loan spells with Coventry City and Rotherham United.

If Ward continues his early season form, there is no reason why a club from the top-flight won't swoop for the Lewisham-born man.
