The Robins academy has hundreds of young hungry youngsters on their books – playing from under sevens to under-23 standards.

It is the perfect time for youngsters to be emerging into the first team at an exciting time for the club, who are looking to push on in the Championship and potentially challenge for a top six place.

Emerging youngsters such as Max O’Leary, Zak Vyner and George Dowling made their first team debuts last season, and they should be seen as a shining example for other players looking to prove that they should be given an opportunity in the first team.

At the start of the under-23 season, they haven’t picked up many victories, but have held their own against talented sides such as Watford and Crystal Palace.

The youngster recently bagged himself a hat trick in City’s 5-3 defeat to a talented Hull City side last month.

He is a player certainly causing a stir for Jamie McAllister, who regularly reports to Lee Johnson on the progression of the youngster.

Edwards is among several names who have received resounding praise from McAllister, and it could be a time to shine for Edwards in the near future.

Andrews has expressed his talent in recent weeks for the Robins’ previous under 23 fixture against Bishops Cleeve – scoring a brace and scoring a superb free kick in their 3-1 defeat to Huddersfield Town.

Certainly a player who will be on the hunt for first team action soon.

The former Llanelli striker has been a big part of Bristol City’s youth system over the past few years and he has also been touted to be the next big starlet at Ashton Gate.

He has bagged himself a few goals already this season and has an energetic attacking presence that would certainly benefit the first team in a few years time.
