Birmingham City are a club that are on the up after a tough few years off-the-pitch.

Ownership issues have tainted the progress Blues have made in recent years and with Carson Yeung's tenure edging closer to it's final chapter, there's real optimism that things are only on the up.

Gary Rowett has instilled a real sense of conficence in his players and despite his cheaply assembled squad, they're definitely punching above their weight.

They sit fifth in the table after eight games, level on points with third placed Newcastle United.

And part of the success at the club has been the development of lots of young talent and we've seen the likes of Nathan Redmond and Demarai Gray really shine after Premier League transfers.

So after their successes, we want to take a look at some other hidden gems that might be hiding in the Blues ranks.

Is the next Nathan Redmond in there somewhere?

With that in mind, here's THREE hidden gems currently at Birmingham - Heard of them?

Jack Storer

Jack Storer is a young man who has seriously divided opinion in his second stint at the club.

The 18-year-old striker seriously impressed in pre-season, scoring eight goals as he really made an impact on Gary Rowett's first-team.

He was the hungry young striker Blues fans had longed for but in his third senior run-out for Blues, he was sent off for headbutting Wolves defender Kortney Hause.

This temperament really showed how much he has to learn and despite his promise, he now has a long way to go to get back in the first-team.

But its a challenge Storer should take in his stride because he really does have the potential to shine.

Charlee Adams

At 21-years-old, he's not an academy product anymore and these are crunch times for young Charlee Adams.

He's a central-midfielder who isn't afraid of getting stuck-in and there is plenty of optimism that he could go on and be a first-team regular.

Adams is currently on-loan at Kilmarnock, who have been struggling in the SPL and it will be a real test for him as he's reunited with former manager Lee Clark.

Josh Cogley

Full-back Josh Cogley is a 20-year-old full-back who has made his senior breakthrough this season.

He made his senior debut in a 1-0 EFL Cup defeat to Oxford earlier this season and looked good, despite the lower-league side taking the win.

He's pacy, likes to get forward and will be looking to continue knocking on the first-team door as the season progresses.

With Paul Caddis still on the fringes of the senior squad, there will be chances for Cogley to get in the first-team squad and he could get a few starts if he continues to work hard.
