What a season it has continued to be for Shrewsbury Town in League One and though they now look set for the play-offs, you cannot take anything away from them.
Paul Hurst has been by far the manager of the year in the third tier for the work he has done with the Shrews and it is surely more than likely other clubs will be sniffing around him before too long.
First, though, he’ll be looking to get his side promoted and with that said we think David Edwards might be the ideal kick-off to their summer business:
The Shrews will of course look to keep the likes of Jon Nolan and Ben Godfrey at the club but they also need to add more experience of Championship football if they can.
Certainly, then, there are few players around as professional and knowledgeable as Edwards and with Reading struggling this season, he might just be willing to hear what the Shrews have to say.
They won’t have the biggest budget if they get promoted, of course, but they cannot simply allow that to stop them from trying to be ambitious and, as we’ve seen this season, they’re more than capable of doing the unlikely.
