The 2017/18 campaign has been a frustrating one for Nottingham Forest, who have once again failed to make a huge impact in the Championship.

Aitor Karanka’s side are cruising towards a mid-table finish between now and May 6th, with the countdown to summer well and truly on.

One problem that has faced Forest this season has been in the goalkeeping department, particularly during the first-half of the season.

A lack of options saw a lot of faith placed in Jordan Smith, with the youngster good, but clearly not ready for regular first-team football.

The problem has been solved by Costel Pantilimon’s arrival, with the on-loan Watford goalkeeper terrific.

However, there is doubt as to whether Forest will have the goalkeeper around next season, which could force Karanka to look elsewhere for a goalkeeper.

Of course, Pantilimon will be Forest’s first choice, but here is a look at THREE others Karanka should consider a move for…

Green’s last campaign in the Championship was excellent, with the ex-England goalkeeper in inspired form for Leeds United.

He’s currently on Huddersfield Town’s books, but hasn’t featured and could well be on the way out in the summer.

He’d be a good short-term option at the City Ground.

Ruddy has helped Wolves to promotion this season, but it is expected that Wolves will look for a new No.1 ahead of their Premier League return.

If Ruddy is available, there will be an almighty scramble on to secure his service.

Forest have to be amongst those clubs if that situation plays out.

Westwood is currently with Sheffield Wednesday, but has had an injury-hit 2017/18 campaign.

Joe Wildsmith and Cameron Dawson have deputised well and impressed, which could potentially open the door for Westwood to leave.

Landing a deal for Westwood would be a real coup for Forest.
