Marcelo Bielsa will be looking to guide Leeds Untied back to winning ways tomorrow evening when his side go up against Ipswich Town at Elland Road.

Leeds tasted only their second defeat of the season on Saturday, with Blackburn Rovers beating them 2-1 at Ewood Park.

The 63-year-old made a bold call by starting with both Kemar Roofe and Tyler Roberts, with the former returning from injury.

Roofe lined up on the right with Roberts through the middle, but neither particularly impressed at Ewood Park, with it likely that one will make way against Ipswich, particularly with Pablo Hernandez set to start.

Here, we take a look at Roberts and Roofe in our latest FLW Duel, analysing some numbers from their respective seasons.

Both forwards have featured in seven Championship fixtures and have been amongst the goals.

Roofe has netted on four occasions, whilst Roberts has scored three goals.

25-year-old Roofe has registered two assists, whilst his 19-year-old teammate has only one assist to his name.

However, it is Roberts averaging 0.3 more shots per game than Roofe.

The experienced Roofe edges Roberts out in many other departments, though, having averaged more key passes per game, as well as a higher pass success.

The Verdict

With Ezgjan Alioski expected to be on the left and Hernandez on the right, Bielsa will have to choose between Roofe and Roberts as the focal point of his attack against Ipswich, which is a big call he needs to get right.

They have similar numbers from the season so far, with Roberts doing a fine job deputising for Roofe over the course of September and early October.

However, it’s hard to see how Bielsa can’t include Roofe as the focal point of his attack, as he, combined with Alioski, Hernandez and Samu Saiz, helped Leeds start the season magnificently.

It will encourage Bielsa that he has options, though.
