Nottingham Forest take a break from their impressive league form as they prepare to travel to Burton Albion in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup tonight.

The four-time League Cup winners will be hoping that they can make it through to the fifth round of the competition for the first time since 1995, as they look the favourites to defeat League One side Burton managed by Nigel Clough.

The Brewers will be well up for the clash of course - they have already beaten higher competition in Aston Villa and Burnley to get where they are now, so Forest will have to be at the top of their game to avoid an upset.

Aitor Karanka's men were desperately unlucky not to have come away with all three points against Leeds United at the weekend, and the league is by far the main priority for the Reds.

There are bound to be some players rested, and here, we take a look at three fringe players that could start for Forest tonight...

Soudani has had his fair share of injuries this season and has managed to start just twice for Forest this term.

Tuesday night's fixture could be the perfect opportunity to give him a rare start - his pace and power up top could be too much for Burton to handle and he could increase his tally of two goals in a Forest side that creates numerous chances.

The Algerian could come in on Tuesday night...

Goncalves has been frozen out of the Forest side since his red card against Stoke City in the previous round of the competition, and has made just one appearance for the Reds since.

But the 21-year old winger has been very impressive for Portugal under-21s recently, and should be given the chance to impress against a weak Burton defence in midweek.

Yacob is yet to make an appearance for Forest since his arrival from West Bromwich Albion on a free transfer, however Tuesday night may present the opportunity for the 31-year old to make his Reds debut.

The holding midfielder has been kept out of the team by the likes of Jack Colback and Adlene Guedioura who have been impressive lately, however Yacob will be keen to impress on Tuesday night in order to earn a starting berth in the league.
