Alex Neil's Preston side have had a recent upturn in form, which will come as a relief to the club's supporters after they made a dreadful start to the season.

The Lilywhites are currently sat in 20th in the Championship table and they will be hoping to continue their five match unbeaten run.

Before their unbeaten run started last month, the Preston boss came under intense pressure after only winning one game all season, which was on the opening day of this year's campaign.

They have since recovered and have shown the sort of form that saw them narrowly miss out on a play-off place last season.

Callum Robinson is one of the players that have rescued Preston's poor start to the season, and already has six league goals to his name and is the club's top goalscorer.

He will be hoping to continue his impressive run of form when Preston travel to relegation-threatened Ipswich Town at the weekend.

But could Alex Neil be tempted to dip into the free-agents market to add some much-needed depth to his squad?

The former West Ham centre-back is a free agent after his contract expired in the summer.

Collins made 149 appearances for the Premier League side and would be an excellent addition for Preston as he could arguably be playing at a higher level than the Championship.

Ince has struggled in recent years and after a number of unsuccessful loan spells at Swindon and Bury, he was released after his contract expired at Brighton in the summer.

If he can rediscover the form that he had shown at Brighton, then he could prove to be the signing of the transfer window with Ince not having a club at the moment.

The former Bayern Munich defender has played in England for the two seasons with Sunderland and most recently, Bolton Wanderers.

After they decided not to renew his contract at Bolton, he has been a free agent since the summer.

He would add some much-needed experience to the Preston side and if he can rediscover his form then he would be an excellent addition for Alex Neil's side.
