Derby County signed four players during the transfer window in the hope of kick-starting their season and claiming promotion.

After a poor start in which the Rams failed to win in four of their opening five games, scoring just once, Nigel Pearson added strikers James Wilson from Manchester United and Matej Vydra from Watford.

One of Vydra's Watford teammates Ikechi Anya also joined the Rams on Deadline Day, followed by former Leicester City goalkeeper Chris Weale.

Derby have also shipped players this summer, with the likes of Raul Albentosa, Jake Buxton and Ryan Shotton all going through the exit door, as well as Chris Martin who joined Fulham on loan.

The Rams want promotion this season after three seasons of being contenders, only to fail. But after five games, Derby have been nowhere near good enough to challenge for promotion.

The transfer window is closed, but teams can still bring in free agents to bolster their squads.

Bobby Zamora

Bobby Zamora was released by Brighton in July after just one season with the Seagulls since re-joining.

In that one season on the South Coast, Zamora scored 7 goals in 26 games, helping Brighton to a third place finish.

The 35-year-old has bags of Premier League experience, having played in the top flight for Tottenham, West Ham, Fulham and QPR.

However Derby fans will remember Bobby Zamora as the player who score the heart breaking goal late on as QPR snatched the play-off final victory in 2014.

But Zamora is a good goal scorer who would be a decent replacement for Chris Martin who has left the club on loan.

Junior Hoilett

Junior Hoilett was released by QPR following the expiry of his contract this summer.

He's a great winger who has the pace and power to beat players.

The 26- year-old can also bring Premier League experience to the Derby side, since he made 81 appearances for Blackburn between 2009 and 2012, scoring 12 goals.

Hoilett has also played in both the Premier League and the Championship for QPR.

Hoilett would be a good addition to the Derby team, but the Rams already have 4 wingers in the squad, so he would be challenged for his place in the team.

Sol Bamba

Sol Bamba left Leeds after deadline day.

The defender has made 51 Championship appearances for Leeds since joining in January 2015.

Bamba has also played for Leicester, Italian side Palermo and French giants PSG, as well as various other clubs.

Despite keeping three clean sheets in the first five games, Derby have looked poor at the back at times, and a big solid defender like Sol Bamba would be a good addition.
