It's been a turbulent time at Bradford City of late.

A year ago they looked on course for a League One play-off spot, but they're now battling against a drop into League Two.

They've had four managers in twelve month, with Stuart McCall replaced by former Sunderland boss Simon Grayson. He left at the end of the season for youth coach Michael Collins to take over and he lasted six matches before David Hopkin was brought in.

They've also seen their chairman leave, the controversial Edin Rahic, a cause for some celebration at Valley Parade. His departure was followed by a brief lift in form, but since then it's been business as usual as they've failed to clear the bottom four in League One.

They've been able to strengthen in the window, Jacob Butterfield being one player who will seriously boost their survival hopes, whilst George Miller and Jack Payne have some youthful energy to bring to the side as well.

If they're feeling the squad isn't quite complete, there's still the free agent market and to help out David Hopkin. We've identified three we think might help them survive this season.

Stephen Ireland

Plenty of people have heard of Stephen Ireland and it's a surprise to find he's still only 32-yeard-old. He's got a lot of experience and whilst he might not be up to 90 minute games right now, he would be a big help behind the scenes.

With international experience and top flight football in his locker, he could bring on the younger players whilst adding some value to the squad.

Keith Keane

32-year-old Keane was last with Rochdale in League One and at first glance, wouldn't seem a top player. However, Bradford had Karl Henry for a short spell earlier this season and he added a certain steel, something Keane would bring to the squad.

He's another with experience and understanding of the game and that could be crucial as they battle the drop.

Aidy White

White has been out of the game for eighteen months now, but has resurfaced recently and is looking for a route back into the game. He's easily linked with clubs having been a Leeds regular and once being tipped as a star of the future.

It will be interesting to see where the left-sided defender does turn up because he's an unknown quantity that could seriously affect a team's fortunes.
