Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters will be feeling satisfied with their positive turnaround in form, which eases fears of a relegation scrap towards the end of the season.

One player who was brought in during the January transfer window to change Wolves' fortunes this year was Austrian winger Andreas Weimann, arriving on a loan deal from fellow Championship outfit Derby County.

The 25-year-old even admitted he was enjoying life at Molineux, having found his love for football once again since making the temporary switch to the Midlands side.

His two goals and same number of assists have all come as a centre-forward, a new position Weimann has thrived upon under Paul Lambert, and where his future on the field may lie after not scoring or creating a single goal in the first-half of the campaign at the Rams.

The loanee has had just four clubs in his career so far, something hard to come by in the modern game.

Having began at Aston Villa in the top-flight, the attacker had a loan stint at Watford before permanently signing for Derby in 2015, and of course is now at Wolves for the time being.

Here are THREE former team-mates of Andreas Weimann that the club need to target this summer....

Johnny Russell

Johnny Russell is currently being utilised by new Derby County boss Gary Rowett, although his future at Pride Park is still yet unknown and links to a move to Birmingham City in January may suggest he isn't wanted at the club anymore.

The Scottish winger and Andreas Weimann know each other quite well having both spent time together with the Rams in recent history.

Wolves' attack needs to be reassessed in the summer if they want a play-off hope to become a reality, and that includes a new left winger.

If they got Russell then him and Helder Costa could cause mayhem in the Championship next campaign, only under the management of Paul Lambert, however.

Nigel Reo-Coker

The ex-England under-21 international has been out of the English game for quite some time now, having spent the majority of his recent career in the United States of America but was released last year and has been reported to be training at Granada under Tony Adams.

Nigel Reo-Coker and Andreas Weimann had a brief spell together at Aston Villa - in the 2010-11 season when the Austrian had just graduated from the club's youth academy.

Premier League experience is needed in this Wolves midfield, which it lacks of, and the 32 year-old could be pivotal next year if they decided to chase him in the summer and did manage to collect his signature.

Danny Graham

Prior to his move to Swansea City in 2011, where he made a name for himself, Danny Graham was enjoying life at Vicarage Road for Watford and he was playing alongside Andreas Weimann.

The latter had a brief spell on loan at the Hornets in 2011 where he made quite the impression partnered with Graham, and it could work once again at Molineux next season.

The 31-year-old striker is currently at relegation-threatened Blackburn Rovers but is failing to reach the heights that helped him win promotion to the top-flight with Swansea a couple of years ago.
