If there's anything supporters at any club enjoy more than anything else, it's for a young player to come into the side and absolutely tear opposing teams apart.

We've seen the likes of Demarai Gray at Birmingham City, Kortney Hause at Wolves and James Tilley at Brighton come into the starting eleven and take their chance really well, forcing their way into their respective managers' plans.

But another way Football League sides go about their business is my following the progress of other youngsters at this level or below, and taking a chance on them whilst their still in their early days of development. This way, the transfer fee is much less than if they've made dozens of appearances for the first-team.

Take Marcus Rashford for example at Manchester United. This time last season, no-one knew who he was but now, he's one of the world's hottest prospects.

And one club that could do with a couple of hot prospects in their team is Birmingham City, who are looking to mount another play-off push this season.

So with that in mind, here's THREE Football League prospects Gary Rowett should sign for the Blues.....

Zach Clough

Unfortunately not related to footballing great Brian, but Zach Clough is a young striker that is making headlines for Bolton Wanderers at the tender age of just 21.

Gary Rowett's side were linked with a move for Clough, who came through the Bolton academy, last summer but no move materialised but could he move for the youngster yet again?

With Wanderers now in League One and the youngster one of their only good players to shine last season, a move to St Andrews could look a better bet this time around.

George Cooper

Another graduate from the famous Crewe Alexandra academy, George Cooper is another man that has been tipped for the top by neutrals and supporters alike.

The 19-year-old midfielder is a big player in Alex's first team these days and has made over 45 appearances since breaking into the side aged just 17.

A move for this youngster would make sense for Gary Rowett, who needs plenty of players if he is to mount a reputable promotion push.

Adam Armstrong

This would definitely be a loan move if Rowett moves for him, but there is little doubt Newcastle striker Adam Armstrong could do a job at St Andrews this season.

Blues fans have been calling out for additional striking support after Clayton Donaldson's slump in form, and the former Coventry City loanee might struggle to get into the Newcastle side amid the Rafa rebuilding.
