Peterborough United could be preparing to lose one of the club's most talented youngsters this summer.

According to reliable West Ham insider ExWHUEmployee, the Premier League club are considering a move for Adler Nascimento.

The 16-year-old Posh talent is one of the newly-promoted side's most high-potential assets and looks set for a bright future after playing a key role in Peterborough's under-18s' Youth Alliance League title victory this term.

It's claimed that David Moyes' side are hoping to bring the player to East London, but would a move be a good idea for Darren Ferguson's side.

Here are three factors that the Championship club must consider.

Financial boost

Such a deal could bring a significant boost to Peterborough United.

The club tied the player down to a pre-professional contract which means that they can command a substantial fee for the player if he was to move on.

While a transfer fee is yet to be discussed, any significant sum could prove to be very helpful as Darren Ferguson looks to improve his side ahead of the new season.

The player's ambitions

It's often forgotten, but Adler Nascimento will have an opinion on what happens here.

Every player has dreams and aspirations for their careers and for the 16-year-old you'd imagine that playing in the Premier League is near the top of that list.

While a move to West Ham holds no guarantees that he'll make the grade, he'd be in the right place to try and forge a pathway into David Moyes' side over the coming years.

A player with plenty of improvements to make

Peterborough will clearly want to keep the player, but his ability must be kept in perspective.

The 16-year-old is undoubtedly a big talent but much of the appeal around the player is based on his huge potential rather than his current ability.

The Posh would love to keep the player but if those funds can help the club find players who can make an immediate impact, this may be a deal that they have to consider with a short-term focus being a priority ahead of a tough campaign in the Championship.
