Fulham got off to the best possible start in this year’s Sky Bet Championship, beating promotion favourites Newcastle 1-0 at Craven Cottage.
And whilst part of that was down to how poorly the recently-relegated side played, they put in a great effort to come away with the points, and gave the Magpies a rude awakening in what everyone expected to be an easy season for Rafa Benitez’s side.
Slavisa Jokanovic came into the club last December, so this will be his first transfer window being able to bring in the players he wants, especially as Fulham have recently emerged from a transfer embargo. He has already acted wisely, getting rid of some of the dead wood in their squad and bringing in the likes of Sone Aluko, David Button, Denis Odoi, Kevin McDonald and Tomas Kalas.
However, it hasn’t been without trouble for the ex-Watford boss, having to let star strikers Ross McCormack and Moussa Dembele leave for Aston Villa and Celtic respectively. There are still probably a few more players that Jokanovic will want to bring into the club, so it could be an exciting few weeks in the business end of the transfer window for their fans.
