As Premier League giants Manchester United prepare for the future under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the need to sign fresh, new talent is still bigger than ever.

The Red Devils are renowned for developing young players and turning them into superstars, with the likes of Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford coming through the ranks at Old Trafford and becoming England regulars.

Reports have recently surfaced that United, along with Arsenal, Celtic and Watford, have sent scouts to watch Birmingham City star Che Adams in action, ahead of a potential summer move.

The 22-year old has been unstoppable for Birmingham this season, with the West Midlands club rejecting a £9million bid from Burnley in January, for the man who has scored 19 goals and has produced three assists from up front this term.

The EFL has plenty of talented youngsters in it’s ranks though, and here, we take a look at three other players from the second tier and below that United need to be tracking...

Max Aarons

Aarons has come up leaps and bounds under Daniel Farke for Norwich City this term, and has quickly become one of the best right-backs in the league.

The defender displays so much athleticism down the right-hand side, and is so mature for a 19-year old. Tottenham and Arsenal have both been linked with the talented youngster.

United need a long-term replacement for the ageing Antonio Valencia, and Aarons would be the perfect fit.

James Justin

Should a move for Aarons fail to materialise, Justin could be another perfect full-back option for United.

The 19-year old has been a regular for Luton Town in the Hatters' push up the Sky Bet League One table this season, making 39 appearances in all competitions.

He can play at either right-back or left-back and would be another exciting option at Old Trafford.

Dael Fry

Another option for United is Middlesbrough's Dael Fry.

The 21-year old has been a regular for Tony Pulis' men this season and has emerged as one of the brightest prospects in the second tier.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs have all declared an interest in the centre-half, and he could be a perfect defensive option for the next few years.
