Hirst’s first-team opportunities at Hillsborough haven’t come due to contract disagreements between him and Sheffield Wednesday.

However, the striker has built up a big reputation at youth level for both club and country.

With a big future ahead of him, City could do far worse than bringing Hirst on board.
