With the transfer window now closed for another season and with almost two-thirds of the campaign complete, the pressure is ramping up on managers to either push for promotion or avoid relegation. Here we look at three EFL managers who may be fearing the sack.....

Luton Town sit rock bottom of the Championship and are currently seven points from safety with just 16 fixtures remaining, having achieved just seven wins so far this season, in what has been a baptism of fire for Hatters manager Graeme Jones on his return to the English second tier with Luton.

Jones, 49, has spent eight months at Kenilworth Road, since taking over from Mick Harford in his first post as manager, having previously spent spells as assistant manager at Swansea, Wigan, Everton and the Belgium national side under Roberto Martinez, before a spell at West Brom under Darren Moore.

Despite some cup highs, the league season at Tranmere Rovers has been a disappointment with Mickey Mellon's side down in 21st place in League One, some six points adrift of AFC Wimbledon in 20th spot, on a run of seven matches without a win.

Mellon, 47, has been at the helm at Prenton Park since 2016, when they were in the National League and despite two promotions in his time as manager, the knives could be out if he cannot get his side to safety.

Wigan Athletic may have picked up back-to-back league wins including the notable scalp of Leeds United last time out, but the Latics remain in dire straights, with Paul Cook's side in 21st place in the Championship, a couple of points off Stoke City in 20th place.

Cook has been at the DW Stadium since May 2017 and has enjoyed some success with securing the title in League One plus enjoying an impressive run in the FA Cup, but time could be running out for the 52-year-old if he cannot get his side firing.
