Former Leeds United defender Danny Mills believes that Tyler Roberts could leave Elland Road on loan in January.
The Welsh international has featured in six Premier League games this season but the majority of those appearances have come from the bench.
When Rodrigo and Pablo Hernandez are available for Marcelo Bielsa, it’s hard to see Roberts getting many minutes at all, which prompted Mills to tell Football Insider that a loan would make sense.
If the 21-year-old was available, there’s sure to be plenty of interest and here we outline THREE Championship clubs who should consider a move for the attacker…
The Rams were said to have been tracking the youngster in the previous window and you can understand why.
Derby are short on options in the final third and Roberts should suit their style. He is capable of playing across the forward line and he would thrive alongside the likes of Tom Lawrence and Wayne Rooney.
With five goals in 11 games, an attacker will be the priority in January and Roberts could fit the bill.
Neil Warnock has done a terrific job for Boro this season and they are in the mix for promotion at this early stage.
Boro’s success has been built on their solid defence and incredibly they sit 7th having scored just nine goals in 11 games.
With Ashley Fletcher out, the experienced boss is low on depth up top and Roberts would make a significant difference to the group.
The Terriers are another side that are lacking that killer instinct in the final third but performances have been very encouraging under Carlos Corberan.
With the Huddersfield boss having worked with Roberts at Elland Road, along with his close relationship with Bielsa, it could give them the edge in this transfer tussle. And, signing the former West Brom man would be a real coup for the club.
