Leeds United's poor 2018 form continued at the weekend as they suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat at home to Cardiff City in the Championship.

The Whites have been pretty shocking since the turn of the year and without a win since Boxing Day in the league -causing Thomas Christiansen to be sacked last night.

However, a lot of his players need to take some blame, too, with them getting sent off and performing below par too often, though there's at least one man who has started brightly - Adam Forshaw.

Signed last month, the industrial midfielder has started well despite team results and fans are beginning to warm to him - making him our first FLW Spotlight subject.

During the game against the Bluebirds, few Whites players stood out but Forshaw certainly did.

He harassed and harried as much as he could in that midfield, showing a dedication and commitment few players have matched during his short spell at the club so far.

He made four important clearances, one tackle and three dribbles in the heart of midfield whilst his pass success rate was close to 87% as he encouraged his team-mates and constantly spoke with the referee during the game.

These are stats that could have easily been of a midfielder in Cardiff's team and it suggests Forshaw is going to be a decent signing for the Whites, as well as a leader and example to follow.

Now they just need a manager who can get the rest of his team-mates up to his standards.
