Doncaster Rovers are in a state of complete uncertainty at the moment after the surprise departure of manager Darren Ferguson at the end of last season.

They will struggle to get much business done this summer until they know who their new manager will be for the new season.

Rovers have still brought in two signings so far. Tom Anderson has joined from Burnley and Max Watters has been brought in from Ashford United.

It is unclear what Rovers ambitions are for the new season, but if they are to push for promotion they will need to vastly improve on last season's shoddy 15th place finish.

Whoever the new manager is, here are three signings that could set them on their way to a promotion push.

If there is one thing that Doncaster desperately need next season it is more of a spark, and Danny Lloyd could provide that.

Despite scoring eight goals and assisting four more, it does not look like Lloyd will be in Steve Evans' first team plans at Peterborough United this season, so a move up to Yorkshire could well be good for both parties.

Doidge can help share the goalscoring load with John Marquis up front for Donny next season.

He helped himself to 20 goals in a Forest Green team that just survived the drop so would be a very good signing for Doncaster.

Strength in depth is always helpful, so Rovers should go out and sign non-league goal machine Danny Rowe from Fylde.

The 28-year-old bagged 24 goals and 12 assists as he helped his club to the play-offs. Can he make the step up? It's a gamble that whoever is in charge at the Keepmoat should take.
