Nottingham Forest return to league action after a short international break, with a trip to Ashton Gate to face promotion rivals Bristol City this weekend.

The Reds will be looking to pick up from where they left off after defeating arch rivals Derby County by a goal to nil before the short break.

Lewis Grabban scored the game's only goal to ensure that Forest would remain in touching distance of the automatic promotion spots, with a game in hand on the teams above them.

The next week will see Forest face two promotion rivals away from home - they travel to West London to face Queens Park Rangers next Wednesday, where Mark Warburton will be looking to beat his former side.

But first up, a trip to Ashton Gate is on the cards, and the Robins are certainly no pushovers. The Robins sit level on points with Forest, and haven't lost on their home turf since their opening day defeat to Leeds United.

With so many games coming up for Forest, they need to make sure that they stay focused and don't become complacent. Here, we take a look at three dilemmas facing Lamouchi as Forest prepare for the trip to Ashton Gate...

Can you score 18 out of 18 on this Nottingham Forest quiz?

Does Dawson come back in?

Club captain Dawson has been missing since the end of September, after limping off injured with a calf problem in the 3-2 win at Stoke City.

In his absence, Joe Worrall has performed superbly well, and is still an everpresent for Lamouchi's side. Chema and Tobias Figueiredo have also performed admirably well in Dawson's absence, and they will be hopeful of retaining their place in the starting line-up.

36-year-old Dawson is back to full fitness now, though, so whether they bring back arguably their best defender for a massive game against the Robins remains to be seen.

Silva, Carvalho, or both?

This is a debate that has been going on amongst Forest fans since the start of the season.

Silva produced arguably his best performance in a Garibaldi shirt in the win over Derby - Carvalho, meanwhile, was brought on as a late substitute, and was once again overlooked by Lamouchi.

It is extremely likely that Lamouchi will field the same team that beat the Rams last time out, and given how well he played against Derby, Silva should start in the number 10 role.

But Lamouchi needs to find a way to fit Carvalho and Silva both into the same team - it will surely only be a matter of time before the former becomes frustrated at his lack of game-time.

How do they approach the game?

Forest have found so many different ways to win games this season.

Against Swansea, they picked up a smash-and-grab win after being so dangerous on the counter-attack all game, whereas against the likes of Luton, they dominated from start to finish.

Do Forest set up to counter against Bristol City, or do they aim to dominate the Robins midfield from the off and potentially find themselves vulnerable going backwards?

Lamouchi has showed how tactically able he is this season, and he'll be thinking of plenty of different game plans.
