Queens Park Rangers host Derby County in the Championship tonight.

A win for either side tonight could see them into the top-half of the Championship table. A few weeks ago, QPR looked to be on a slippery slope towards the drop zone, but they're once again looking up the table.

Goals had dried up, the confidence was gone and the fans were down. But three games later, two clean sheets and an emphatic comeback win against Stoke City has QPR back on track, and sniffing around the mid-table perch.

Derby sit two places and two points above 15th-place QPR, but a win for the home side tonight would see them leapfrog Derby, with the potential to go as high as 12th depending on other results.

Here we take a look at three Derby weaknesses that QPR must look to exploit tonight:

Shots on goal

Against Fulham last time out, Derby allowed the opposition to have a lot of the ball and a lot of shots on goal. Despite only taking one of those chances, Fulham should've had many more and it'll give Mark Warburton and QPR plenty of hope going into tonight's game in West London.

QPR are one of the highest-scoring teams in the league this season. They've blown teams away at times and can compete with the best in the division on their day, and if Derby give them enough possession in their own-half tonight then the likes of Ebere Eze, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Jordan Hugill will surely be amongst the goals.

Lack of pace

Derby have a lot of really good technical players, but their squad has a distinct lack of pace. From front to back, Derby don't have an awful lot of pace which can hurt QPR, who in-turn have a lot of pace in theirs.

The midfield-three of Eze, Osayi-Samuel and probably tonight, Ilias Chair, are three players who can travel with the ball at pace. All three can spring counter-attacks from deep and use their pace to really hurt Derby, and that might be QPR's best chance of claiming what would be solid win in West London

Unhappy travellers

If the Championship table were based solely on away form, Derby would be in a relegation scrap - they've picked up just 11 points from 16 away games this season, the same amount as 22nd-place Wigan Athletic.

QPR meanwhile have boasted some solid home form this season and will be looking to take advantage of a mis-travelling Derby side. They have however experienced an upturn in form since the arrival of Wayne Rooney last month, and their away record probably isn't representative of their current form.

Nevertheless, QPR will go into this game knowing how tough it'll be, but knowing that they should have enough to claim the three-points.
