Brentford looked braced to lose keeper Dan Bentley this summer, with the former Southend man looking likely to move away from Griffin Park, according to the Mail.

He's contracted to the club until 2020, but they fear losing him for nothing and may be forced to cash in at the end of the season. The 25-year-old began his career at Arsenal and has been impressive this season, but it's thought that Brentford would rather get cash for him this summer than risk losing him for nothing.

That means they'll be in the market for a stopper one the summer window opens. Even if he doesn't move on, they may have to think ahead and plot a move for a new number one as a safety net.

The role of the keeper is crucial and the Bees have a proven track record of plucking players from relative obscurity and turning them into a huge profit. They may need to work that magic again and if they do need any pointers, we've got THREE players we think would fit the bill for them...

Josh Vickers

23-year-old Vickers is a former Arsenal trainee himself, not unlike Bentley, and he's slowly working his way into scouts notebooks up and down the land.

The towering keeper is currently with League Two leaders Lincoln City, where he's garnered a reputation as a top shot-stopper as well as a custodian who commands his area superbly.

The only question mark is over a persistent injury that's ruled him out for a portion of the season, but if that can be sorted he's got the credentials to go right to the top.

Matt Macey

Macey is an Arsenal player, currently on loan with Plymouth Argyle. Whether he'll be available or not in the summer is open to debate, but if he is Brentford should be right in there.

Macey has been excellent in League One this season, proving to be an accomplished and stable influence in the sticks. He's 24 now and after three loan spells, might be looing to the next stage of his career.

Karl Darlow

Darlow would be an alternative to the up and coming model, but he's seemingly not going to get a game for Newcastle and therefore would relish regular football in the Championship.

The Northampton-born 28-year-old would be a big signing for Brentford, arguably a better keeper than Bentley and given his current status, he might be picked up for a bargain fee too.
