Mark Robins has led his Coventry City charges to the brink of achieving something incredible this term, with the Sky Blues currently sitting at the top of the League One standings with just over 10 games to play.

The former Manchester United striker has nurtured his young side into genuine promotion contenders, with the Midlands based club having thrived despite being forced to play at the St Andrew's Stadium, the home of Birmingham City this season.

Most of the club's best exploits have been down to the contributions of their forward thinking players, with the likes of Matt Godden and Maxime Biamou chipping in with a high majority of the team's goals this term.

In addition to making a big impact in the final third, the Sky Blues have also remained defensively sound for much of the campaign, conceding just 30 times in the league to date.

However despite their overall success this term, there will still be some flaws which need to be addressed come the end of the campaign.

Here, we take a look at THREE Coventry City flaws that will need addressing by Robins this summer....

Sam McCallum's departure

The talented young full back sealed a January move to Premier League Norwich City after putting in some fine showings for the Sky Blues before then being loaned back by the Canaries for the rest of the season.

McCallum has been one of Coventry's best performing players this term, notching up 31 appearances in all competitions under Robins.

His crossing ability and turn of pace make him a key focal point for the team when attacking from wide areas.

Left back is certainly an area that will need strengthening once McCallum departs, with Robins to be left with only Brandon Mason to call upon in that role.

Losing Liam Walsh

The Bristol City loanee has been in fine form for the Sky Blues since arriving at the club this summer and would be well missed by the club once he returns to Ashton Gate.

With five goals and four assists to his name in all competitions, the 22-year-old is by far and away one of the team's most creative outlets this season.

The departure of Walsh would increase the amount of responsibility on Jordan Shipley's shoulders, whilst the Sky Blues will be left short in the creative midfield position.

Securing Walsh on another loan deal or bringing in a like for like replacement is something that Robins should be aiming to address as a priority this summer.

Avoiding individual errors

Despite their successes this term, Robins will be keen to solve what has been his team's achilles heel for quite some time - restricting the amount of individual errors that his players commit.

Admittedly this is a variable that cannot be controlled as it is almost an inevitability at any form of level that errors will take place at some point.

However one way in which it could be improved is by bringing in a few more experienced pros, with the Coventry squad possessing an average age of just 24.5 according to Transfermarkt.

The signings of a few older players could well improve the team's concentration levels as a whole, thus reducing the amount of individual errors that come to fruition throughout the course of a season.
