Norwich are currently fourth in the Championship thanks to Jordan Rhodes’ heroics in Tuesday night’s comeback win over Aston Villa.

Daniel Farke’s men trailed at the break in their home clash with their Championship rivals before the striker’s two-goal salvo secured the points to make it back-to-back wins for the Canaries.

The 28-year-old now has four goals in eight starts this term and was instrumental in Tuesday’s triumph.

With Teemu Pukki missing since picking up an injury while away on international duty, the burden has been placed squarely on the shoulders of Rhodes to keep the goals coming.

The Finland international limped off in the UEFA Nations League fixture against Greece during the October break to accommodate the fixtures.

And Rhodes has had to deputise in his absence since.

With that said, here are three consequences to Norwich after the upturn in form for the Canaries’ striker.

Once Teemu Pukki is fit and raring to go, with the form of Jordan Rhodes, it is not a foregone conclusion that the Finn walks back into the first team.

With Rhodes scoring goals and influencing games, Pukki’s place is under threat, and it will mean he has to work even harder to get back in the side.

If he does that, then Norwich could have two strikers fighting tooth and nail to get a place in the side, and that is only to the benefit of the team.

Jordan Rhodes has carried on where Teemu Pukki left off, with a little help from Timm Klose, too.

With the news Teemu Pukki had been injured playing for his country in the UEFA Nations League, there was a worry as to who would fill his boots.

Jordan Rhodes was the obvious deputy, but goals had not been forthcoming in previous games.

Now it looks like has turned a corner and is hitting form at a perfect time to keep Norwich’s march up the table going.

Points move you up the table and to get those points you need to score goals - and Jordan Rhodes is doing that.

By coming back to win last night, it shows a spirit and hunger within the Norwich camp that they want to achieve something this season.

And it continues their form having now won four of their last six matches.

A consequence of Rhode’s upturning form is the continued upward momentum he is giving his club having been entrusted with scoring the goals at present to keep Norwich moving in the right direction.
