Derby County winger Florian Jozefzoon has been given permission to leave the club on loan, according to a report by Football Insider.

The 28-year-old has made ten Championship appearances for Derby this season, but has really struggled to make an impact and is yet to score a single goal.

The wideman has been left out of the matchday squad on several occasions this season and last featured for the club at the start of December.

According to Football Insider, Phillip Cocu is prepared to let the player leave Pride Park on loan and his availability is thought to have altered a number of Championship clubs.

Here are THREE reasons why Derby allowing Jozefzoon to leave on loan is the right decision...

He's been poor this season and isn't getting into the team

Jozefzoon scored three goals in 35 appearances for Derby last season and was an important player for the team, but he's has really struggled to make an impact for the Rams since Cocu took charge at Pride Park in the summer.

His performances so far this season have been very disappointing. He's yet to score a single goal and appears to be suffering from a lack of confidence, which is understandable.

He hasn't featured for the club since the start of December and has failed to make the squad on several occasions this season. If he isn't going to play, which he clearly isn't, then it makes sense for him him to leave the club.

It will benefit him

Jozefzoon may have struggled for Derby so far this season, but he's still a good player and he showed throughout his time at Brentford that he's got what it takes to make an impact in the Championship.

If he stays at Derby until the end of the season, he clearly isn't going to get many opportunities to play.

However, moving to a different Championship team on loan would allow him to experience regular first-team football again and should hopefully help him get his confidence back.

It will make way for January signings

Cocu will be looking to strengthen his squad in the transfer market this month, in order to give Derby the best possible chance of getting their season back on track and pushing for the play-offs.

If Jozefzoon isn't going to play many games, which it's safe to assume he isn't, allowing him to leave the club this month would free up space in the squad for some new signings.

It could also potentially open the door for some of the young players at the club, the likes of Morgan Whittaker, to get more opportunities in the first team.
