After a disappointing defeat on Saturday to Huddersfield and the end of Nottingham Forest's unbeaten run, Nottingham Forest sit in 10th.

They are nine points off the play-offs and they missed a huge opportunity to make ground on the play-off pack.

Despite that, there is still 15 games to go and Dougie Freedman's men could mount a late play-off charge with the right personnel acquired and the return of Britt Assombalonga.

They would need a similar unbeaten streak until the end of the season like the one that has just ended.

Chelsea, similarly, has improved since the turn of the year and have been unbeaten under Guus Hiddink.

Although the first team has failed to perform to the usual standards, the youth teams continue to impress on a regular basis.

Michael Mancienne has played for both clubs and Dougie Freedman will be hoping to forge a successful relationship between the two clubs, so he can hand-pick some of the brightest young talents in England to bring to the club.

Nottingham Forest has had a remarkable run to go from two points off the relegation places, to touching distance of the play-off pack, it has been built on a solid defensive foundation but the lack of goals could prove costly, if Freedman doesn't address this weakness and strengthen his attacking options in the emergency loan window.

This article looks at THREE players that could join Nottingham Forest from Chelsea in the emergency loan window.............

Tammy Abraham

One of the hottest prospects in Chelsea's extensive youth set up is Tammy Abraham.

The London-born striker has rose through the ranks at Chelsea, joining the club as an Under 8. He predominantly played out wide and still can to this day but he is most effective up top.

In his breakthrough season as a scholar, Abraham scored 32 goals in 26 appearances which got him on Avi Viveash's radar as Under-21 manager.

In February, he made his debut for the Under 21 outfit, scoring a brace and has gone from strength to strength.

He is one of the most prolific scorers in youth football, as he has scored 46 goals in 42 appearances since breaking through.

This has also been replicated on the International stage for England's Under 19' where he has picked up a number of goals, and will be looking to progress to Under 21 level.

Tammy Abraham would be the ideal understudy of Assombalonga and a real asset for Dougie Freedman.

Kenedy

The second potential player that could join Nottingham Forest from Chelsea is Kenedy.

It would be an ambitious signing for Forest, as Kenedy has been heavily involved in Chelsea's matchday squads under both Mourinho and Hiddink since joining Chelsea.

He made his Chelsea debut as a second-half substitute in a Premier League match against Crystal Palace in August 2015, but has failed to cement any role in the side.

Kenedy would be a real coup for Forest as the versatile Brazillian can play on either flank and also play in the number ten role and would link up well with Jamie Ward, Ryan Mendes and Nelson Oliviera if Forest set up in the 4-2-3-1 formation.

He would provide creativity and flair to get the fans on the edge of their seat as well supplying some much-needed pace and power, to drive the team up the field from their defensive set up.

Although he's been involved in Chelsea's matchday squads, he hasn't had much playing time and a drop down to the Championship would give him a real feel of the physicality and competitive nature of English football.

Freedman would need to persuade Kenedy that Forest would play with more of an attacking impetus than recent weeks, and that could be the decisive factor on if Forest can snag such an exciting young talent.

Charlie Colkett

The final potential player that could join Nottingham Forest from Chelsea is Charlie Colkett.

A central midfielder by trade, he would provide a different option as a box to box midfielder on the front foot.

He could be the missing piece in the jigsaw of a midfield that has often been labelled as too one dimension, sidewards and lethargic in possession.

Despite his age, he has been an Under-21 regular in 2014/15 and has the captained the Youth Cup team to another trophy success.

This winning mentality and leadership qualities may prove useful for Dougie Freedman, especially if the club are looking to mount a late play-off charge.

With 62 appearances for Chelsea's youth sides, he is getting to a level where the development squad set up is hindering rather than nurturing him.

A short loan may be the perfect opportunity for him to get some priceless experience and to show that he is capable and ready to mingle with the first team squad.

Of the three, Colkett is the biggest risk as he's never been out on loan but also, he has suffered with persistent muscular injuries that have plagued his early career but he has bounced back stronger and could quickly become a fan favourite at the City Ground.
