January is fast approaching and Lee Bowyer will have a busy month overseeing the takeover of his club, and looking to reinforce his injury-stricken squad. But will he look to offload any youngsters for the second-half of the season?

Charlton Athletic currently sit 17th in the Championship table with a six-point buffer to the relegation zone.

They're winless in nine after their 1-0 loss at home to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night, having lost the last four.

Bowyer though has had to deal with a very real injury crisis in his first season as a Championship manager - up to six first-team players could miss their weekend fixture against Hull City.

He's got some talented youngsters in the squad who've filled in during the crisis, and here we take a look at three Charlton prospects who should ask for a loan-move in January:

Junior Quitirna

Charlton's Guinean midfielder, Quitirna has made just two cameo appearances in the Carabao Cup for Charlton this season, but hasn't made a match day squad in the Championship yet.

The 19-year-old came into the first-team this season from the development squad and Quitirna has a special story - last year he was involved in a horrific incident where he was stabbed, fortunately it wasn't too serious.

He wasn't absent for long and making his first-team debut for Charlton earlier in the season capped a fine recovery journey. Charlton fans would love to see a bit more of the youngster, but he'll need some more first-team experience if Bowyer is to utilise him.

Albie Morgan

The 19-year-old's had quite a season so far - starting it on-loan at National League trailers Ebbsfleet United to now being a regular member of the Charlton first-team.

He's made the step-up the divisions amid Charlton's injury woes and he's taken like a duck to water - Charlton fans and Bowyer are big admirers of Morgan but come January, with players returning from injuries and potential new signings, a loan move may be ideal for him.

Alfie Doughty

Doughty is another name who started the season on-loan in the National League and has been recalled to go straight into the first-team.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been equally impressive as Morgan in his return to the club and he too has played a lot of Championship football in the last few weeks.

But again with a lot of midfield players soon to return from injury, Doughty may well be sent out on-loan again in January. Charlton fans want to see him progress, and he'd probably be better off taking another loan move for the second-half of the season.
