It is safe to say that relegation worries have well and truly set in around Charlton Athletic following their 4-0 hammering at the hands of Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The Terriers were supposed to be one of the Addicks' more beatable opponents but with back to back losses in Yorkshire against Danny Cowley's men and Sheffield Wednesday, they now sit just two points above the drop zone.

March looks set to be a crucial month for them with match-ups against Middlesbrough, Hull City and QPR to come.

Here, we take a look at THREE issues around the club that Bowyer must sort to ensure this month is a success...

Confidence

There is no doubt that conceding a late goal to Sheffield Wednesday and then getting hammered by Huddersfield will have knocked the confidence of this Charlton side.

However, Bowyer simply cannot afford for his side to fall into the doledrums. They seem to be balanced on a knife edge at the moment.

If he does not reinstill that confidence they will fall the wrong way and plummit back into League One. But if he can they have the potential to string a big run of results together.

Away approach

If this last week has shown us anything it is that Charlton are far too cautious on the road and invite too much pressure.

On paper, a point against Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday night would have been an excellent one. But their approach simply invited far too much pressure and it eventually told.

The same happened against Huddersfield. The Addicks looked the better side for a while but failed to take advantage when they were on top, falling back into conservative mode.

It was their front-foot approach which surprised many and took them to the top of the table in the early months so Bowyer has to now be bold.

Creative set-up

It is a point which ties into their negative approach.

In their last nine Championship games, Charlton have scored more than one goal just once and have failed to score at all four of them.

With Lyle Taylor leading the line, it is clearly a problem found in the creative factions of the side. At the moment the team are being sent out not to lose, which is badly limiting the chances created for Taylor and whoever his strike partner might be that day.

If you are not scoring goals, you will not survive. Charlton have all the tools to score goals, they just need to find the right combination to thrive.
