The East Anglian derby is perhaps the Sky Bet Championship’s most anticipated fixture this weekend, with Ipswich Town looking to return to winning ways against their fierce rivals, Norwich City, at Portman Road on Sunday afternoon.

Mick McCarthy’s side head into the fixture on the back to consecutive defeats at the hands of Bristol City and Sheffield United, which has seen the Tractor Boys fall behind the Championship’s top-six.

This Sunday’s clash will see two of the Championship’s most fierce rivals go head-to-head in what is usually a feisty contest. Here at FLW, we take a look at the starting XI McCarthy could turn to this weekend, with three changes and a switch in system.

Ipswich have lined up with a 3-5-2 formation in their most recent defeats, but for this weekend’s clash with Norwich, we are expecting to see a 4-4-2. Bartosz Bialkowski will be expected to continue in goal, but this week be protected by a back-four, consisting of Dominic Iorfa, Tommy Smith, Luke Chambers and Jonas Knudsen from right to left.

Cole Skuse and Tristan Nydam will be tasked with getting a grip of the game in central midfield, whilst they are flanked by two wingers, Freddie Sears and Bersant Celina, who must look to put Norwich’s defence on the back foot.

With Joe Garner struggling with injury, we would imagine McCarthy will continue with the partnership of Martyn Waghorn and David McGoldrick, who have shown during the opening months that they have enough about them to cause Norwich’s defence some serious problems.
