Leicester City's stunning Premier League victory will no doubt serve as inspiration to Championship teams right now as they dare to dream.

And why not? Granted, the Foxes have been helped by the slump of the 'big' teams this term, though their coronation can't be considered a complete fluke.

Simply put, the East Midlands club have been the best team in England this year over the course of a 38 game season.

Incredible.

So then, it can be done. You don't need all the money in the world to lavish on big names and hipster managers to win the ultimate prize in the land.

Will we ever see it again? Arguably not. Still, perhaps it's not as ridiculous a notion as it may strike you on first thought.

Every single year the Championship is getting increasingly competitive with more and more top teams dropping down into it every season.

The stakes are so high now that second tier teams are of great quality and can pull their weight in the proverbial Promised Land, with this season more than ever wholly indicative of that.

Don't forget, only Norwich who were promoted last year look in danger of slipping out of it and the Canaries have been anything but drop fodder for much of the campaign.

So maybe it can be done again. Perhaps not.

Nottingham Forest

Ok, so perhaps this one is for the romantics. Still, the Reds are without doubt a club of huge stature and the Foxes have shown their East Midlands counterparts just what a few good years of planning can do.

If managed correctly, there's little stopping the City Ground outfit flexing their muscle as one of the top clubs in the country.

They've done it before after all.

Brighton

Brighton are probably the most left-field suggestion on this list, though that is the sheer nature of life following Leicester's historic achievement.

They may not reach their goal this season, though their remarkable run of form surely puts them in contention for the title next term should they fail to overcome Middlesbrough.

The Seagulls define the term 'upwardly mobile' and have an ambitious, wealthy backing built off innovative statistical analysis.

Leeds United

Though they've been stuck in the second tier for a number of years now, it's still hard to comprehend a club the stature of Leeds United not being in the Premier League.

The Whites are a huge club and with better backing could easily handle life in the top tier once again.

A shame for them that their owner is who he is. Still, with the right board behind them, Leeds United could once again be an absolutely huge force in English football.

Rather than the farce they are now.
