Derby County
3 Championship players who should feature in the next England squad – Agreed?
After England’s bitterly disappointing European Championship campaign during the summer in France, many have been calling for new Three Lions manager Sam Allardyce to be ruthless in who he calls up.
The Sky Bet Championship has several players who, despite playing in the second-tier, deserve the chance to play for the national team.
Even Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has called for Allardyce to choose Championship players for October’s World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia.
Some players from this division who have been called up to the England squad in the past includes Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton last season, before they got promoted to the top-flight and striker David Nugent, who was surprisingly called up by Steve McClaren in 2007 when playing for Preston North End.
Here are my 3 Championship players who deserve to be called up to the senior England squad by Sam Allardyce.
