The Championship has always been a breeding ground for potential talent that can reach the top.

We only need to look at the likes of Troy Deeney at Watford and Aaron Cresswell with West Ham to see players who have comfortably made the step up.

It's hard for club's to deny their players the opportunity to test themselves at a higher level - especially if that club are struggling to mount a promotion push themselves.

We've seen, in Charlie Austin, a man who proved himself at Premier League level and pushed through a January move to Southampton from Loftus Road.

His debut winning goal at Old Trafford further reinforced his pedigree at that level.

Similar stories have emerged this season and with six teams going for three places in the Premier League, players who miss out could well seek out moves to a higher level.

But who this season has excelled in a team sitting in the lower reaches of the Championship and could seek a move away?

We take a look at THREE players who may well leave the club if their clubs don't improve.....

Alan Judge

Alan Judge

The Irishman has made his intentions very clear come the end of the season.

With the club yet to offer him a new contract as he heads into the final year of his contract, Judge has stated his desire to seek a new club.

His 14 goals and 10 assists this season have almost single handedly kept the club away from a potential relegation battle.

After a fantastic first season in England's second tier, Judge has had to watch ex-manager Mark Warburton walk away in the summer along with several of his team mates.

He was the subject of failed bids in January because the prospective buyers didn't meet the £8 million valuation Brentford had for their prized asset.

This appears a chance missed as Judge is almost certain to leave this summer and it won't be for anything near their asking price.

Nahki Wells

wellsssss

Bermuda international Wells is now in his third season with Huddersfield since signing from Yorkshire rivals Bradford City in January 2014.

Since his arrival he has continued to apply himself and prove that he is more than capable of performing at Championship level.

His 32 goals in 95 appearances have kept the Terriers in mid-table for much of his time at the John Smiths Stadium.

The club, for the moment, seem content with Championship stability.

Although there are positive signs under new manager David Wagner.

Nevertheless Wells is clearly capable of playing at a higher level - a Premier League move may be slightly beyond him right now but a move to a high class Championship club capable of mounting a promotion push may be too much to turn down.

Jonathan Kodjia

Jonathan Kodjia

Signed from French club Angers for £2 million this summer, his 14 goals have helped keep Bristol City afloat in the Championship.

Despite the change in manager in February Kodjia has continued to impress and manager Lee Johnson is aware of the interest that will be on the Frenchman this summer.

Kodjia is the only Bristol player to reach double figures in the scoring charts this term with last season's leading scorer Aaron Wilbraham the closest to him with seven.

This further highlights his importance to the side, although Johnson has brought in Peter Odemwingie on loan from Stoke for the remainder of the season to give the Robins so much need fire power to assist Kodjia.

If Johnson can raise funds to mount more of a challenge next season then the Frenchman may be persuaded to stay, but with clubs already circling around Kodjia, his head may be turned sooner rather than later.
