Bolton have made a decent start over the first third of the season to life in League One, and sit firmly in the promotion picture.

After a season of turmoil last term, new manager Phil Parkinson has managed to steady the ship and get the team playing with some confidence once more.

Parkinson has managed to keep hold of star performers like Zach Clough, and if he can keep hold of him and others in January, the former Bradford manager might well fancy his chances of getting the Trotters back into the Championship.

To do so though, he will know he needs to add fresh faces in the transfer window. One way of doing this would be to look into the Championship for some potential loan stars.

Here, FLW writer Lee Connor takes a look at THREE Championship players Bolton could look to sign on loan in January...

Lucas Joao

The Sheffield Wednesday striker has found himself down the pecking order this year after hitting the ground running last season and impressing in his first season in England.

However, as a young player, he has time to develop and might well need a spell playing consistent first team football to do this.

Playing for someone like Bolton who are challenging at the top end of the third tier could be more than useful for Joao. The Portuguese man could add real class to the Trotter striking options, and might well fire them to promotion.

Tyler Denton

Young Leeds United fullback Denton really is a potential star of the future and has already made his mark at Elland Road this season already.

Denton though still has a way to go before he is considered full time first team material, and a spell in League One with someone like Bolton could really serve his career well.

If Bolton could sign Denton, he would be an excellent signing indeed for the run in to the end of the season.

Callum Harriott

A summer signing for Reading in the summer from Charlton Athletic, Harriott has not really held down a regular place in the Royals line-up and often finds himself on the bench.

Harriott though is too good to be warming a bench every week, and could do a very good job for Bolton.

The tricky winger possesses excellent pace and has the ability in League One to change a game on its head. He would be an excellent signing if Phil Parkinson could pull it off.

Bolton fans, what do you think? Good signings? Let us know in the comments!
