The Championship is always a busy market place when it comes to the January transfer window, and we at FLW once again expect plenty of action when the window opens in a week or so.

Clubs at the top and bottom end of the table will be looking to find the right players who can propel them either to success, or save them from a potential drop into League One if that is indeed on the cards.

And with clubs in the Premier League also shaking things up, the latest update today from Alan Nixon about Burnley strikers Ashley Barnes and Sam Vokes means that certain Championship clubs will no doubt be on red alert.

Nixon claims that the Clarets could well be shopping the striking duo and looking for potential buyers, and there are clubs in the Championship who could benefit massively from signing one of, or both, of the Premier League strikers.

With that in mind, we've taken a look at THREE Championship clubs who should look to sign one of Barnes or Vokes in January...

Sheffield United

If one thing is obvious at Bramall Lane, it is that they need a cutting edge if they are going to maintain their push for promotion.

The Blades play some lovely football at times but other than Billy Sharp, they struggle to find a regular goalscorer.

Both Barnes and Vokes would be welcome at the lane, and both would be a big improvement on the current striking options.

Nottingham Forest

Forest could do with taking some of the burden off of Lewis Grabban, and both the Burnley strikers make sense as potential signings.

The Reds need to keep up the pressure on the top six and by signing a new striker, they would give themselves a tremendous chance of nailing down a place in the top six.

Leeds United

Kemar Roofe is the man in form for Leeds, but with Patrick Bamford struggling with certain injuries, Leeds could well use the extra firepower to fire them to promotion.

Barnes would fit in nicely, while Vokes would be a good second option in terms of their style of play if Marcelo Bielsa decides he needs something different in his striking options.
