The dire nature of Reading's end of season form has highlighted some major issues within the club, with far too many first-team stars showing any sort of dynamism.

Brian McDermott has rightly come in for some blame, though there's only so much the 55-year old can do when his players seem to lack motivation.

What is needed is a major overhaul in Berkshire as they try their best to reach at least the playoffs next term.

Stagnation appears to be a sewing motif among a number of big clubs this year, with many doing so in the Premier League amidst Leicester's most unlikely usurping.

It's something felt North of the Border too, with Scottish giants Celtic looking as if they are approaching a crossroads as Rangers gear up for a return to the top flight.

The Bhoys will no doubt see a major summer of transfer activity and perhaps the Royals would be well advised to make the most of it in an effort to improve their ailing squad on the cheap.

With that in mind, here are 3 Celtic players who would be a perfect fit for Reading.

James Forrest

Hal Robson-Kanu is looking increasingly likely to leave the Madejski Stadium this summer upon the expiration of his deal.

With the Welshman's departure in mind, the club must look for another wide option who can chip in with his fair share of goals.

Considering that, they'd be well advised to make a move for Scottish international James Forrest, whose own deal in Glasgow runs out at the end of 2016.

The 24-year old would be introduce boundless energy back into the ranks at the very least, as well as quality in the final third.

Nadir Çiftçi

Ciftci

Nadir Çiftçi has recently announced his desire to leave Parkhead on a permanent basis, having spent the last few months on loan at Turkish side Eskişehirspor.

Though he's struggled in Glasgow, the bruising Turkish forward was excellent at Dundee United and could be the target man the Royals so desperately require.

A good all rounder, he'd link up play well and give a physical edge to the frontline.

Stefan Johansen

Johansen

Player of the Year last year, largely lambasted this time round. Norwegian midfielder Stefan Johansen will more than likely leave the club he served so well last season, with just 12 months left on his deal.

He'd be a great option to have in an attacking midfield berth, able to stretch defences by pulling wide and creating space for the likes of Stephen Quinn, or floating across the frontline and wreaking havoc of his own.
