Despite the stark contrast in silverware each club will pick up at the end of the season, both Nottingham Forest and Celtic have had somewhat comparable campaigns.

That may sound ridiculous considering the Reds only survived life in the second tier by the skin of their teeth, while the Hoops were crowned champions of Scotland.

Still, both outfits have a considerable fanbase and a proud history of success and have disappointed their supporters this term.

It may seem like first world problems for the Bhoys, who have won a fifth consecutive title, though there is little doubt they have stagnated without the presence of Rangers.

Despite regular entry to the qualifiers, the Champions League seems a world away from the Glasgow giants, who will surely undergo a major overhaul upon the return of their arch rivals.

While many of the club's players have disappointed this term, perhaps Forest would well be advised to cast their glances over to Parkhead in a bid to land some of those heading for the exit.

It's been anything but a convincing season for the Glaswegians, though there's little doubt they boast a certain amount of quality.

James Forrest

James ForrestJames Forrest

A hugely popular member of the club's squad, though the contract of Scotland international James Forrest is drawing to a close.

A gifted natural talent, the 24-year old would be a decent option down the right hand side, able to cause havoc in the final third from wide areas.

With his deal set to expire in December, he could represent a bargain deal for the Reds.

Stefan Johansen

Johansen

Last year's SPFL Player of the Year, things haven't gone quite to plan for Stefan Johansen this time round.

As good as he was last term, the Norwegian will always be indicative of the largely unpopular Ronny Deila era.

With just 12 months remaining on his contract, the 25-year old could be a gamble worth taking.

Scott Brown

It seems very much like Scott Brown needs a new challenge. The Celtic skipper is a combative midfield presence on his day, though has stalled this season in the absence of a genuine challenge for some time now.

Still, the Scotland man is a fine central midfielder, able to reclaim possession before surging forward and would be a tireless option to add into the engine room.
