Cardiff City are in great form at the moment.

Four wins from their last four games has seen the Bluebirds fly up the Championship table and settle in the top half.

While the season is still young there's every chance that Neil Harris's side will be in contention to secure another play-off spot this time around.

But with the January transfer window it seems that Cardiff are at something of a crossroads.

Some shrewd additions could be what is needed to push the club into promotion contention, but what does that mean for some of the players already at the club?

We take a look at three players who will have a point to prove in the coming weeks.

Filip Benkovic

Things just haven't gone to plan for the defender so far this term.

After joining from Leicester City off the back of a hip injury, Benkovic just hasn't been able to make an impression under Neil Harris.

With no appearances to his name so far, it remains to be seen whether he'll be sticking around in South Wales or heading back to the Premier League side.

Josh Murphy

The 25-year-old has certainly slipped down the pecking order this season.

Murphy has been limited to just three starts this term after being restricted to cameo appearances in most of Cardiff's fixtures so far.

The winger hasn't featured in the last four games and that will certainly raise questions about his future at the club.

Sol Bamba

The experienced player is no doubt regarded as a Cardiff legend, however first team opportunities have been hard to come by.

Bamba has been limited to just four cameo appearances for the club, and while he's a big part of the Bluebirds' dressing room, he'll surely be frustrated at the lack of action.

The 35-year-old doesn't have long left in his career and perhaps a move to play regular first team football will be appealing for the defender.
