Cardiff City are a side packed with talent, but have not performed to the best of their ability since their relegation from the Premier League in 2014.

The Bluebirds were highly expected to bounce straight back to the top-flight, but finished in 11th place last season.

Even though, they are only five points adrift of the play-offs with more than half way through the season, there is still doubts over their aspirations to make the top six in May.

The South Wales side took a further blow this week as they will be unable to sign players permanently for the foreseeable future for breaching Football League rules – being placed under a transfer embargo.

Despite the Bluebirds' fall backs, there are some players in the side who would fit perfectly into a Premier League side and have been the stand out players in the squad.

There has been plenty of interest from Premier League clubs for their star players, and some of them will feel that their performances should be rewarded by playing week in-week-out in a sustainable Premier League side.

The Scottish international goalkeeper is one of the best keepers in England and has shown over the past few seasons, why he has earned his £10 million valuation that Cardiff gave him a few weeks ago.

There has been strong interest from several Premier League sides such as West Brom and Everton in recent weeks.

They also had a bid for their goalkeeper turned down from Arsenal over the past year.

The club will be determined to keep on to their star man, however the goalkeeper has not indicated that he is unhappy with playing Championship football with Cardiff City.

Craig Noone

The tricky winger has been linked with a number of clubs in the past, and came close to joining Norwich for £2m last January.

Noone has been in great form recently, scoring a brace and setting up a goal against Wolves in their 3-1 victory.

Russell Slade may be worried by the strong interest from Premier League clubs for Noone, and will hoping to keep hold of the player with less than a week till the transfer window closes.

The player has an abundance of ability and skill, and his pace makes him a real threat to opposition defences.

Aron Gunnarsson

The Iceland international has really made his midfield berth his own for the Bluebirds in recent weeks.

He is an all-round midfielder who displays a hard working attitude in every game that he appears in.

Gunnarsson is in the prime of his career as he will be captaining his country in the Euro 2016 in France through the summer.

There is questions as to whether Gunnarsson needs to move on to develop his career further remains uncertain, but his style of play and attitude would suit a Premier League side.
