Bristol City have always been known for having a good youth academy and for bringing players through to the first team at a regular and consistent rate like they do.

Three players who have particularly stood out in the past couple of years has been Bobby Reid, Joe Bryan and Lloyd Kelly, with the latter being sold on to AFC Bournemouth for a hefty sum in the summer.

There will be many players at Ashton Gate that feel like they should be in the frame to be getting regular game-time at the Championship side, and the youngsters will be desperate to impress in any way possible.

Here are three Bristol City youngsters that should be asking for a loan exit in January...

Tyreeq Bakinson

The 21-year-old central midfielder spent last season on loan with Newport County in League Two and put in some starring performances as he controlled the middle of the park with ease.

The youngster has had to settle with a spot in the City under-23s this season, but he will be wanting to head out on loan in January to test himself and speed up his development as he continues to get used to the demands of senior football.

Hakeeb Adelakun

The 23-year-old has been out of favour with Lee Johnson ever since joining the club from Scunthorpe United, and he will be wanting a loan move away from Ashton Gate in the winter transfer window to get some men's football under his belt.

Having been playing at right-back with the under-23s so far this season, the right-footed winger will be wanting a loan move down to League One or League Two just to get that buzz of Saturday football again.

He could argue that he has been hard done by with manager Johnson not playing him, however Adelakun shouldn't let his development stall by not heading out on loan next month.

Antoine Semenyo

Having been in and around the Robins first-team squad so far this season, Semenyo would have been content sitting on the Bristol City bench.

However with the rumours that City are lining up a couple of strikers in January, the 19-year-old would be better off leaving the club and heading for a temporary destination to try and get some more experience in senior football.

Having had a productive spell out on loan with Newport last season, he will be aiming to recreate any success with a loan club in January if he was to leave temporarily.
