Things are very exciting at Bristol City at the moment. After achieving last year’s target of surviving the drop, the Robins will look to push on next year and advance up the Championship table.

With the youthful and promising Lee Johnson now settled into the managerial job and money being available to spend this summer, Bristol City could be set for a good season.

They have already dipped into the transfer market and are looking to get plenty of business done sooner rather than later. A few good signings with the available money could help propel Bristol City up the league and perhaps even mount an unlikely challenge for a play-off spot.

Bristol City have never been in the Premier League but the owners have very much set that as a long term ambition.

Here are THREE Bristol City players who you should keep an eye on for the upcoming season…

Josh Brownhill

Bristol City swooped swiftly for Josh Brownhill after the talented midfielder turned down a new deal with Preston North End.

The 20-year-old impressed on loan at Barnsley last season and helped the Tykes win promotion to the Championship.

Despite being offered a new deal by Preston, Brownhill opted to move on and Bristol City fought off Barnsley to land the central midfielder. Big things are expected from the former Manchester United youngster so keep an eye on him next year.

Wes Burns

Wales under-21 international Wes Burns should be given a chance next year at Bristol City.

The striker, who can also play on the wing, has been used primarily as a substitute in the past but has recently had successful loan spells in the lower leagues and scored goals.

The academy graduate has been linked with a move to Scunthorpe but is capable of scoring the goals to fire Bristol City up the table if someone takes a gamble on him.

Arnold Garita

It will be very interesting to check how Arnold Garita gets on next year. Bristol City took a punt on the Cameroonian striker when he joined in January for £50,000 following a successful trial.

He is yet to make his first team debut for the Robins but he will be looking to break into the first team side next season. The former Chateauroux front man scored 9 goals for the French second tier side before making his switch.

He has been described by former manager Steve Cotterill as “big, powerful, raw, hungry” so if he can fulfil his potential, he might have a breakthrough year with Bristol City.
