Brighton and Hove Albion are on the cusp of the Premier League, locked in what promises to be the most scintillating closing weeks of the Championship season in recent memory.

Level on points with Middlesbrough and Burnley, with a trip to the Riverside their final game of the season, there's every chance we could be seeing the Seagulls in the Premier League for the first time next season.

Still, that's not stopped a number of their top players being linked with a move to teams who currently occupy the proverbial Promised Land.

A wonderful run of form has not gone unnoticed by the so called 'big boys', who no doubt will have cast their glances over to the Amex as their automatic promotion hopes hang in the balance.

Ironically enough, one of the teams that have been linked with making a move is Newcastle United - who the Seagulls certainly could end up replacing in the top tier.

The Toon would be well advised in making a raid on the Amex this summer should they retain their status as a Premier League outfit.

Who? What? Why?

Lewis Dunk

Lewis Dunk has indeed been linked with a move to Tyneside and it's easy to see why.

The 24-year old has emerged as a top class centre-half in the second tier, an area the Magpies desperately need to strengthen in no matter what happens between now and the end of the season.

They could do a lot worse than a resolute defender such as Dunk.

Solly March

Newcastle brought in the likes of Andros Townsend and Jonjo Shelvey during the January transfer window in an effort to introduce a more British feel to the club after years of buying from the continent. Mainly France.

While those two haven't worked out quite as hoped just yet, it should put the club off trying to stick with that plan.

England under-21 international Solly March has impressed amid this wonderful season and would be an exciting signing to bring to St. James' Park no doubt.

Tomer Hemed

While the Toon Army will no doubt call for a more illustrious name in the attacking department after such a stingy season in front of goal, Israeli striker Tomer Hemed would be a decent option.

He's been clinical in front of goal for the Seagulls this season and could provide adequate cover and competition.
