Brighton are currently sitting 2nd in the Sky Bet Championship, only three points away from top spot.

Brighton are currently on a great run of form, winning six of their last eight games, picking up some big wins over Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday in the process.

Seagulls manager, Chris Hughton, recruited well in the summer, signing Championship experience, in Oliver Norwood, Shane Duffy and Glenn Murray.

Brighton's key business in the window, could turn out to be keeping hold of their key players in Anthony Knockaert and Dale Stephens.

Brighton turned down several approaches from Burnley over the summer for the services of Dale Stephens, but so far he has found it difficult to break back into the starting eleven.

Knockaert is widely thought of as one of the best wingers in the league, and he attracted interest from Newcastle over the summer.

Here, FLW's Chris Wilson will look at three transfer valuations of Brighton players that will surprise you (via transfermarkt.com)

Connor Goldson - £638k

According to transfermarkt.co.uk, Goldson is valued at only £638k, a huge surprise, given the fact he is widely thought of, as one of the best young centre backs in the league.

Albion signed Goldson from Shrewsbury and he has established himself a good partnership alongside Lewis Dunk.

He was a key player in Brighton's success last year, with their tight defence a huge factor in their march to the Play-Offs.

At just 23, Goldson has plenty of time to develop into a top class centre back, so his market valuation of £638k is a big surprise.

Dale Stephens - £4.25m

According to transfermarkt.co.uk, Stephens is valued at £4.25 million. Stephens is regarded as a good centre midfielder at Championship level, and will probably make the step up to Premier League in January, or over the summer.

Stephens signed for Brighton from Charlton back in 2014 and has made good progress whilst playing for Albion, playing 45 of 46 games last season.

He was another of Brightons key players last season, with his partnership in midfield with Beram Kayal, being a huge factor in Brighton's success.

His value is somewhat surprising, given the fact they are believed to have turned down an offer on nearly double that amount in summer.

Lewis Dunk - £3.83m

According to transfermarkt.co.uk, Dunk is valued at £3.83 million.

Dunk is highly thought of in the Championship, and is widely seen as one of the best centre backs in the league.

Dunk is a product of the Brighton academy and he has racked up 133 appearances in a six year spell in the first team.

He was a huge player in Brighton's successful season last year, he played a huge part in Brighton keeping 17 clean sheets last season, the 4th most in the league, behind the three promoted teams.

Given the fact Dunk is still young and English, his market value is very low when compared to some of the prices being spoke about for other young, English centre backs.
