Brentford will be hoping for vast improvements this season after their inconsistent display last season under three different managers.

The summer was a bit of a joke for Brentford only it wasn't funny as chairman Matthew Benham replaced Mark Warburton, who had impressively earned Brentford a play-off spot the season, before with Marinus Dirkhuijen who is unproven at this level.

There was also a large exodus of players in the summer with key men like Jota, Stuart Dallas, Toumani Diagouraga, Jonathan Douglas, James Tarkowski and most importantly top scorer Andre Gray all moving to other clubs and replaced by lesser unproven talents.

And it badly showed for Brentford who looked a shadow of the team from the 14/15 season and Dirkhuijen was the first managerial casualty of the season.

Lee Carsley helped stabilise the club until Walsall manager Dean Smith came in and slowly but surely got the club on the right track.

The team struggled for goals and were hugely reliant on star man Alan Judge who was nominated for Championship Player of the Year after carrying Brentford to survival.

7 wins in their final 9 games with Vibe scoring freely have Brentford fans optimistic for the upcoming season but Judge's broken leg is a big blow.

Here are THREE Brentford Players to look out for next season.....

Lasse Vibe

Vibe in the middle of the season just appeared to be another transfer gone wrong as he was one of the players brought in to replace star striker Andre Gray, who had gone to Burnley.

Under Dirkhuijen he was wrongfully played on the wing and he barely scored but under Carsley and Smith he was played as a lone striker kicking into gear towards the end of the season, scoring 7 goals in 7 matches matching Alan Judge as top scorer with 14 goals.

If he is used correctly next season and partnered with Scott Hogan then the Danish hotshot could score 20 plus and succeed in replacing Gray.

Scott Hogan

It has been hard for the 24-year-old since his move from Rochdale, suffering for an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which has kept him out for most of the season.

He made his return at the end of this season scoring 7 goals in 7 games, playing excellently alongside Lasse Vibe, as Brentford won 7 of their last 9 games to power away from any threat of relegation.

He also won the Player of the Month award for April, and if Brentford can keep him fit he could be crucial to a promotion bid as he seems to be capable of getting 20 plus, and only 2 seasons ago he was spearheading a Wycombe promotion bid.

Josh McEachran

The Chelsea youngster has a lot of experience playing full seasons at Middlesbrough, before his permanent move to Brentford and he seemed a very good replacement for Diagouraga.

But he suffered from injuries to his thigh and knee which has kept him out for long periods this season, and he has not established himself.

But compared to a young Modric and Essien, his vision and passing is unmatched at this level and if he stays fit next season he could be one of the best midfielders in the Championship.

He is capped for England at youth level and a product of the Chelsea academy and Brentford will need him in the heart of midfield next season.
