Brentford are still in the hunt for promotion from the Championship, but recent frailties have come to the fore in recent weeks that threat to derail their ambitions.

The Bees have not won any of their last five games, with four draws and a disappointing defeat to Luton Town in that run.

In their last match, they surrendered a two goal lead over Cardiff City, as the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Here, we take a look at THREE issues around the club that Thomas Frank must sort to ensure that March is a success...

Failing to keep clean sheets

The Bees have struggled with this element of their game of late. It has been nine games since the side kept a clean sheet, and that has been uncharacteristic of Brentford going by how they've performed defensively so far this season.

According to WhoScored, the Bees have conceded just 17 goals all season from open play, which makes this recent issue with clean sheets hard to process.

Part of the reason behind it has been the decline in David Raya's recent performances in goal, but it has also been down to letting the opposition into the game far too easily.

Attacking wise, Brentford are one of the best sides in the division, so Frank needs to turn his attention to the defensive side of things behind the scenes to ensure this problem does not continue.

Inconsistency in performances

This issue has affected the team all season, with the most common scenario being an unlikely defeat after a series of excellent wins.

The Bees have lost to relegation threatened Luton and Huddersfield so far this season, and in recent times, Brentford have become draw specialists, with four stalemates from their last five games.

This inconsistency needs to be addressed, particularly away from home, with Frank's side winning just two of their last ten games on the road.

Conceding soft goals

This issue has also become more of a common theme in the weeks gone by, as Brentford have failed to address their problem of conceding cheap goals.

Against Luton, Shandon Baptiste turned the ball into his own net. We also cannot forget David Raya's howler of a goalkeeping error against Hull City.

Frank needs to address this, as if it continues, crucial points that are needed for promotion will be dropped.
