Bradford City wasted no time in appointing Gary Bowyer's replacement, announcing Stuart McCall's return to the club for a third stint as manager less than 24 hours after Bowyer's departure.

The Bantams lie one point outside the League Two play-off places following a run of no wins in their last seven games.

City were arguably one of the favourites for promotion this season following their relegation from League One after a disastrous campaign last term.

Plenty of Bradford fans seemed thrilled with the arrival of their 'new' manager yesterday, and with only 15 games remaining this season they will hope this appointment can help the side kick on.

There are areas that McCall will need to address if the Bantams are going to sustain a successful top seven push, though.

Here we have a look at three issues McCall must address as soon as he possibly can...

Seeing out games

City have dropped a whopping 14 points from winning positions so far this term, and have seemed to develop an unwanted knack of not being able to see out leads.

Furthermore, the Bantams have conceded eight goals in the final 15 minutes of league games this term, a problem McCall must address if the Bantams are to have a chance of achieving promotion.

City would be on 61 points, as opposed to their 47, and top of League Two if they could see out games. Should McCall manage to address this quickly, their promotion charge could get back on track.

The away form

City have now gone nine away games without a win on the road, following their 3-0 defeat to Oldham on Saturday.

Their last away victory came all the way back in mid October where they won 2-1 at Morecambe.

Since then, their away form doesn't make for pretty reading, having drawn five and lost four of the last nine away games.

Their form at Valley Parade has kept City in the hunt for the play-offs but should they want to gain and maintain a play-off place, City need to start picking up some wins away from home.

City's next two away games are against Cambridge United and Newport County, who are both below them in the league. McCall needs to ensure the Bantams are in the best possible position to take maximum points from these to fixtures.

Getting Lee Novak and Kurtis Guthrie firing as soon as possible

Novak and Guthrie both joined the Bantams on deadline day, after James Vaughan and Eoin Doyle departed the club earlier in the window.

Before leaving the club Vaughan and Doyle had a whopping 32 league between them, whereas Novak and Guthrie only have nine between them.

Although Doyle scored all of his goals during his loan at Swindon, City have let a lot of firepower leave the club, and some supporters may be forgiven if they feel a little underwhelmed with what they have brought in.

Although McCall has arrived after the transfer window, it will be up to him to get the two new attackers firing.
